Overview: Edgar, not willing to admit to Florence (Florence Lake) that they are broke, is forced by her to give Brother (Jack Rice) a $1000 check. Edgar, in an effort to get the money to cover the check, decides to pawn Florence's diamond bracelet. Edgar doesn't know that Brother (a real jewel) has already hocked the bracelet and substituted a paste one in its place.
