Overview: At the beginning of the 20th century, Célestin Freinet, the son of a farmer, had always dreamed of teaching. When, belatedly, he managed to land a teaching post, he found himself confronted by his pupils' lack of motivation. To get them interested in learning again, Célestin had the idea of abandoning traditional methods and turning his pupils into budding journalists.
