Racing in the Middle of the Atlantic Ocean - EPIC AZORES

Overview: The Azores Islands are a Portuguese archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. I visited in December of 2022 to run the 60k EPIC Azores trail race on Sao Miguel Island where I'd end up having to battle some pretty tough conditions. I then stayed for two weeks to soak in as much as I could of all the Islands have to offer, including its rugged coastlines, green pastures, lake-filled calderas, and local cuisine.
